Terms & Conditions

The terms that apply when you book and receive services with African Braids by Julz.

Last updated: October 5, 2026

1. Agreement

By requesting or booking an appointment with African Braids by Julz ("we", "us"), or by using this website, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and to our Booking & Deposit Policy and Privacy Policy.

2. Services & pricing

  • Prices on this website are starting prices. Your final price depends on the style, size, length, density of your hair, hair used, and any add-ons, and is confirmed with you before your appointment.
  • Appointment durations are estimates and can vary with your hair and the style chosen.
  • A booking request is not a confirmed appointment until we confirm your time and your deposit is received.

3. Booking, deposits & cancellations

A $50 non-refundable deposit, paid by PayPal or Zelle, is required to secure your appointment and is applied toward your service total at checkout. Deposits are not refunded. Reschedules are free with at least 48 hours' notice and your deposit carries over to the new date. Cancellations or reschedules within 48 hours, and no-shows, forfeit the deposit, and future bookings after a no-show may require 100% prepayment. Full details are in our Booking & Deposit Policy, which you accept when you book.

The remaining balance is due at checkout on the day of your appointment, using the payment methods we confirm with you.

4. Preparing for your visit

  • Please arrive with your hair prepared as instructed for your style (for example, washed, detangled, and blown out) unless those services were booked.
  • If you're bringing your own braiding hair, please confirm the type and amount with us before your appointment.
  • Please arrive on time. Late arrivals may shorten your service or require us to reschedule, so that the next client is not delayed.
  • Please let us know in advance about any guests; space may be limited.

5. In-home & travel service

  • In-home appointments include a travel fee based on distance, which we confirm before your appointment.
  • Please provide a safe, clean workspace with a comfortable chair, good lighting, and a nearby outlet, and secure any pets.
  • We may decline or end a visit if the environment is unsafe.

6. Health & safety

  • Please tell us before your appointment about any scalp conditions, sensitivity, hair loss, allergies (including to synthetic hair or products), or medical concerns.
  • Let us know right away if anything feels too tight or uncomfortable during your service so we can adjust.
  • For your safety, we may decline or modify a service if we notice a scalp or hair condition that could be made worse.
  • Our services are cosmetic. They are not medical treatment, and we do not diagnose scalp or hair conditions.

7. After your appointment

Please review your style before you leave. If you have a concern, contact us as soon as possible — ideally within 48 hours — with photos, so we can review it and, where appropriate, offer an adjustment. Results and how long a style lasts depend on aftercare, hair type, and lifestyle; we're happy to share care tips.

8. Photos & social media

We love to showcase our work. With your permission, we may photograph your finished style and share it on our website or social media. You can say no at any time, before or after your appointment, and we will remove photos you ask us to remove.

9. Minors

Clients under 18 must be booked by a parent or legal guardian, who accepts these terms on their behalf. A parent or guardian should be present or reachable during the appointment.

10. Using this website

  • Website content, including our logo, photos, and text, belongs to African Braids by Julz or is used with permission. Please don't copy or reuse it without our consent.
  • Reviews you send us must be truthful and your own. We may choose which reviews to display, and we only publish them with your permission.
  • We work to keep website information accurate, but prices, availability, and details may change without notice.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim related to our services is limited to the amount you paid for the service in question. We are not responsible for reactions to products or materials you supply or for conditions you did not tell us about. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have that cannot be limited under Texas law.

12. Governing law & changes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. We may update these terms from time to time; the version posted here when you book applies to your appointment.
